Zoom G2 Mod

This modification allows you to remotely change the patches Up OR Down.  This allows you to have the unit at arms reach while you tweak your patches without bending over all the time. The original switches still work as normal.

I used a 2.35mm (1/8 inch) stereo plug so it wouldn't protrude too deeply. The sides are a bit thick, so instead of putting the outside threaded nut on it I just screwed it into the plastic and used a bit of epoxy on the inside to make sure it wouldn't come loose.

These are the three points you have to solder your wires to. You can use the three points that are close together, but I was afraid that the solder might flow over and short two together.

This is what it looks like with the side back on.

This is it all together and working. I repurposed a used Crate switch I got for $8 at a guitar show. I did change out the latching switches for momentary switches (you must use momentary switches). This cost about $5

I couldn't be happier with this setup. It works perfectly.

The cable itself was just headphone extension cable (for 1/8inch / 3.5mm jacks) The wire inside was just a small part of that cable since it had three wires (and a shield) You could use 4 conductor pickup wire as well and just not use one wire.
